Variable Fonts // OpenType Font Variations

There have been a few questions / observations about using fonts - notably some fonts downloaded from Google Fonts - that are "Variable Fonts"

In short: It seems that Moho is not yet able to handle variable fonts; and the advice (from google fonts) is to use the static font files.

IOW (with specific focus on the google font downloads):
Don't use the font files you'll find in the top level directory of the .zip you download (these will have a name that is of the form "<FontName>-VariableFont_<axes>.ttf"); instead, look in the "static" directory and choose the one(s) you want.
