Video with alpha on Mac OS for FinalCut - workaround

Post by slowtiger »

Several tests later...

So ProRes alpha-ALAC doesn' work because it doesn't really write an alpha channel.
If you export a movie from Moho, render in ProRes PNG-alpha, which cannot be played in Quicktime player, but will import to and work with alpha in Finalcut.

FinalCut no longer has an option to set a default length for imported images (which didn't work anyway).

BUT: you can export a sequence of PNG files from Moho and then do this:
https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/q ... 5/mac/13.0 (set correct FPS and choose ProRes)

which gives you a ProRes file with alpha which works everywhere.
