Layer path inmune to camera movement

Post by Genete »

I don't know if it really a bug or not, but it is a bad thing that a layer movement path (which is shown when it's check box is turned on) is inmmune to camera movement. In this way it is very dificult to manipulate a layer movement if there is a camera movement already keyframed, because the path is deformed to match the combination of the camera and layer movement.

I was making a trace of a road using particle layers. A very long road. Then I moved the camera to follow the particle layer. But When I wanted to correct the particle layer movement it was very difficult to do.

Here some examples:

Hola

I don't understand exactly what you want to do, not even by looking at your sample files.

What kind of movement are you trying to get?

Meanwhile I was developing a particle layer to create a virtual road I made followings things:
I create the particle layer (see examples) and traslate it thru a line using crashcore scripts. then to follow the creation of the road I put the camera to follw the particle layer in its movement. Then I realized that the path of the particle layer (the blue line with dots) was modified fron its initial aspect when there were no camera movments. So I "discovered" that the shown path of the moved layer is drawn being influenced by camera movement.
Now with camera movement is very difficult to correct a layer movement because the path is meanless.

Try to open one of the examples, select the partcile layer and then sleect the transalate layer tool (be sure that show path check box is on). Then go to the key frames of the camera movement and erase them. You will see how that path changes...
