I was thinking a way of adding points, selecting points, translating points and adjusting the smoothness/tightness of the curve through those points all in one tool could be neat ... maybe making use of all three mouse buttons and the scroll wheel, or something. So you can do all those things withou...

Wow, neat -- I wonder if it would be just as simple to combine other tools into one this way?

Well, thanks for the compliments, but I'm just waiting for the people who can really code to show up. I mean, I won't stop, but the last tiime I really did any coding was on a big ol' IBM mainframe 20 years ago, and assembler on my ZX-80 before that. I've been looking for a Junior High schooler I c...

Hmmm, that may be just what I need. And since it's raw code I can just build it in instead of having to run a converter afterwards ...

That's funny because the code I write myself generates bitmap sequences; it's the only image file format I actually know well enough to be able to produce a valid file from three arrays (red, green, and blue). I wish I knew how to then convert those sequences into avis.

mp3s are smaller files but they put an extra workload on the processor because they have to be "decoded". I would think you could probably benefit from using a lower quality .wav file while working, though; i.e. 8-bit, mono, 22050 samples per second or less.

Ideas to try

Starting a thread for general ideas to try, things that might loosen some creative blocks ... How about importing photos (rather than drawings) as images to trace -- kind of like rotoscoping except that you're not tracing a whole movie, just a still picture -- then use the magnet tool to distort you...

You're missing my point. It doesn't matter if the sound clips appear to physically overlap each other or if they're in separate rows visually; the sound of the clips would overlap. Therefore Moho would be mixing the clips into one soundtrack, and once you get into this, you will start to want more c...

Yes, but if you have multiple sounds on the timeline, they will overlap, and you would be essentially mixing them in moho. And that is the point at which you will realize some of them need to be adjusted relative to each other.

that approach it teedious and time consuming. Well, you know. It is animation. Hello there . I can see how it would be nice for you to be able to slide your POW!, KABOOM!, BIFF! and ZING! around in the timeline to match your hits in that there neverending fight scene of yours; but then suppo...

Not to keep singling you out for abuse, Postality ... but back in the olden days (long before my time) the soundtrack was always completed before any animation began. This wasn't a bad thing. You'd have someone listen to the soundtrack and mark where all the sound effects were, and then the animatio...

I'm surprised I didn't see any mention in this thread of RMS (root mean square). This is where you take the root of the average of the square of all the samples in a section of audio to get the overall "energy level" of that section.
