Re: Webinar: Character Rigging and Animation in Anime Studio

Actually, Victor's English is much better than his Spanish. I watched a webinar of his in Spanish and only understood Alt y Shift. :-) Still learned something, though. What I couldn't do was start just from the drawing of the guitar player, create a skeleton from scratch and get it to move properly...

Basically a boolean substraction

One of the new features of v10, with the Paint Bucket tool is to create a shape based on overlapping lines, which sort of amounts to a boolean subtraction (see link), which is a neat feature to be sure. However, is there a way to do the opposite? Create a shape based on the outline of the overlappin...

Why would anyone choose to use Animate Pro?

I have Animate Pro 3, from ToonBoom which I bought quite some time ago. (I don't remember why I bought it, I just did... I'm a software junkie.) Recently, I was curious about it so started watching some of their tutorials on it, and am completely overwhelmed with the needless complexity of it all. F...

Re: Anime studio for cliparts and gif files

Anime Studio is a full featured animation application, specifically targeted towards making videos and movie clips. It's not really a drawing application for creating clipart, nor is it really intended for GIF animations. But, you could draw something, do a preview render of it, and save it as an im...

Re: Action Window is not coming up

Is it possible it's coming up, but beyond the borders of your screen? Of course, there's probably no really way to determine this, but might be the case. You could try looking in the user settings file C:\Users\<Replace With Your Profile Name>\AppData\Roaming\Smith Micro\Anime Studio Pro\10\Anime St...

Re: Help Shape the Future of Anime Studio

Woody, character turn arounds are typically done via switch layers and mirroring/flipping layers, which are controllable via smartbones. It can be done, but takes a bit work & effort to create them.

Re: Webinar: Character Rigging and Animation in Anime Studio

Something I have been thinking about for quit some time now. This SORT OF came up in this webinar when one of guest asked the following question. NOTE: I may not have the wording spot on. BUT, anyway. Someone asked what Victor(Selgin) thought was the best way to have a character pick up a glass, dr...

Re: ASP 10 Drawing tools question

What is the trade-off of a few points with more channels, or more points to make up for the lack of other channels? You're stating that adding 6 channels per point would impede the performance, which would indeed be true. However what you're failing to list is that the number of points necessary per...

Re: stomped by line width

I turned the option off in the preferences, added two vector layers to a group layer, and rescaling the group layer both strokes do not retain their original size when scaling. If I scale the individual layers, inside of the group layer, the strokes still resize as well. If I remove one of the vect...

Re: Advice on clip causing trouble.

Do you have a video demonstrating this? Can you do your character animation in Anime Studio pro, and composite with the background in a video editor? What solutions have you tried? have you tried downsampling the background?

Re: stomped by line width

Unfortunately, scaling any singular element or layer, really screws up the overall piece of art. I cannot begin to count how may times scaling something has totally thrown off something I've drawn and/or created. I've actually seen it advised in these forums to not scale anything, because of the co...

Truth be told, I liked it. even though it's simple, I thought the movements matched the "script" very well.
