The disappearing exported .mov file

Post by willf »

I keep trying to export an .anme file as a Quicktime movie, into the designated ASP 9.5 folder. It sure looks like it is rendering, but no actual quicktime movie appears, it just gets done rendering, then nothing.

Any suggestions?

Out of curiosity I tried exporting it into IMovie as png files and got it to work that way, but IMovie obviously doesn't offer the choice of 24 frames/sec.

Thanks.

Is it a long animation?
When you say "It sure looks like it's rendering", do you see the progress bars till it's 100% complete?
And are you completely sure the "designated folder" is the one where the movie is being "produced"? (I've had to look for mine a couple of times)

Your file surely has a name. Have you searched the filename?

OK, I've done a search for it by name among all the .mov files and nothing.

It doesn't seem to be misplacing the .mov file, just not creating one.

The task completion bars go all the way to the end as far as I can tell. Then it just does nothing, rather than bringing up the new exported .mov file

I did successfully export it as a swf file, it seems to be the only format which isn't working is quicktime.

Now I'm going to see if quicktime needs an update.

Quicktime says its ok, no need for updating.

It's only a 30 second movie, so it can't be that long.

Maybe the file is corrupted, I'll try exporting a different .anme file into a .mov file

Try using a different name for the movie file when exporting.

I find that sometimes it won't replace an existing movie file. Also if the movie file is still open it won't replace either.

Thank You HeyVern, that did the trick.

It may have been that quicktime didn't like one of the characters in the title, a backslash.

Either way, it's working now. Thanks.
