I promise this will be the last music video until autumn! For this one I plundered Giorgio de Chirico, as you all immediately noticed. Do yourself a favour and watch it full screen.
Cutout animation really is one of Moho's virtues, incredibly fast and easy. I did something with the marching characters: first rigged and animated one, then made a screenshot of the character with bones visible, then used this screenshot in TVPaint to create new assets, which I layer-bound to the already animated, multiplied skeleton.
This is the job where I had some performance problems https://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35699. Note to self: find a better way to deal with these multiple morphing faces, and keep use of raster effect to a minimum.
