HI Paul,

I downloaded the already!
Good work, but i didnt realise there was a commercial version as well?
Thanks. I'm glad that you like them. :D

Yes, I'm working on a what I would like to become a commercial version.

I love writing software and would like to do so for a living.

Although I'm not expecting this set of plugins to make a ton of money.

It would be nice to make a few dollars on the side to help cover my DAZ3d habit. :P

Have you considered writing plugs for Anime Studio?

I'd like to. Right now, its not quite economically viable for me to buy a $200 piece of software (unemployed). I tried the Moho demo a month or so ago and really like it. There is also the question: "Is there a SDK available for Anime Studio for people to develop their own plugins?"

After I finish the PD Pro plugins, I'm looking at maybe making some plugins for Daz Studio. I guess it all depends on how the success of these plugins and my employment situation turns out. Only time will tell. :)

Thank you Paul, certianly nice of you to take the time and effort to share.
Are you active on the Project Dogwaffle site? That is to say, is there an active forum there?

You are quite welcome. :)

Project Dogwaffle doesn't have its own forum per say, but the creator Dan Ritchie does have a yahoo group dedicated to discussion of the software.

Owner is good at marketing, though.
thanks.

Dogwaffle web site, one of the ugliest I've ever seen :P
thanks :-)

Painter is a much better alternative, may cost a bit more, but it is multi-platform.
depends on a number of things.

Project DOgwaffle is much more than a Painter alternative. It also has tons of features for Animation. If you remember the Amiga OS, it had a very popular paint program, named Deluxe Paint, or D-Paint. That's the inspiration behind Dogwaffle.

It's also a function of what features you really need. Many have Photoshop and use 10% of it. The other times they'd like to use it it's for painting, and it's not trivial.

Check the testimonials about the $19 cousin to PD Pro, called PD Particles. It has just two things in mind: painting and painting with particles. It leaves the rest to the other apps you might already be using.

Or artRage would do pretty much the same thing, and is also multiplatform. Has both a free version and a 20 dollar version. ArtRage also has a forum, much like this one, for support and such.
Yes, absolutely, give these guys a hand and try ArtRage. If you like it go for it. It will make a great comanion to your other tools. Try also the demo of PD Pro or the freeware version of Project Dogwaffle 1.2, and then ArtWeaver and Pixarra Twisted Brush. They all have their specialties and merits, and only you what you need and want or feel comfortable with in terms of interface and such.

If you're on Mac, there's fewer choices. But if you're on a MacIntel, and pur a dual boot in with boot camp, then you're back in biz.

Also, if you're on Linux, check the latest developments with Wine, they have made tremendous improvementsm, running Photoshop, World of Warcraft and other graphics intensive tools. I don't know yet if Dogwaffle will run there.
