Hm, this one isn't really walking, since the feet just slide back and forth. There should be a visible lift of the feet when going forward.
Otherwise very nice cutout effect, how did you achieve that BG flickering? And the animation lokks just the right amount of jerky.

It must be an optical illusion because as I watch it, I'd swear he was walking backwards...

Yeah, I got that too. I think it's because the left leg seems to be in the air (off the shadow) as it moves backwards, instead of on the ground.
